FES Course held in Belmullet, Co Mayo
QualiBuild were approached by the Better Energy Communities (BEC) project in Belmullet, Co. Mayo with a proposal to run a dedicated FES course for a group of contractors/construction workers in the Gaeltachta area.
Day 1 and Day 3 classroom elements of the programme were held at Údaras na Gaeltachta training room,Civic Centre, Belmullet and the group then travelled by bus to Partel Headquarters for the practical demo day. As a trained trainer from the QualiBuild Train the Trainer course, Emmet Nee from Partel, delivered the training. The course was a day delivery held on Tuesday 5th April, Thursday April 21st and May 5th with a total of 22 attending. Participants included contractors, construction workers, engineers and other professionals.
As part of the pledge, Údarás na Gaeltachta have committed to the three year implementation process to become a Sustainable Energy Community for the Gaeltacht region. Working with QualiBuild, the workforce in Gaeltachta area can be upskilled and trained to provide quality low energy building.
The FES course was a huge success and with funding provided from both parties enabled the construction workers to carry out training at no cost. The response from the construction workers who attended the QualiBuild FES course was highly praising and recommended by all those that attended.
