The Cork QualiBuild FES Course is running at CIT Rossa Ave, Bishopstown, Cork and has changed its dates.

10th May, 24th May and 7th June, all on Wednesdays between 9am-5pm

Application for Foundation Energy Skills training programme

  • Please fill out the application below. Please note that the PPS number is a required field and will serve as your unique identifier with Limerick Institute of Technology, who will be issuing the awards for the course.
  • A National Craft Certificate in a construction trade or equivalent (e.g. Senior Trades, Advanced Craft City & Guilds) OR A letter from an employer (past or present) on headed business paper as evidence of experience as a building construction worker. In the case of self-employment, a letter from a client on headed paper as evidence of employment as a building construction worker OR A copy of Safe Pass (current or expired) Open to employed and unemployed. Please upload copy of Safe Pass, evidence of trade qualification, employer reference confirming work experience, etc, using the link at the bottom of the form.

This course is for ALL Building Construction Workers and will provide a Single Subject Certificate in Introduction to Low Energy Buildings.

Not only is the construction industry changing with the introduction the year, of mandatory registration for all construction companies on CIRI, but there is a need for a change in approach in constructing low energy buildings. The course is intended to provide the know how and practical information for construction workers to improve their skills in Quality, Energy Efficiency and Best Practice, which involves the concept of ‘Systems Thinking’ to enable all trades to work together more efficiently and effectively and develop the understanding of Quality Building.

The course is divided into 6 units and will be presented and discussed in a 3 day course over 6 weeks to accommodate workers who are busy at work:
