This is a FREE 3 Day Course running: Wed 13 April 2016 | Wed 27 April 2016 | Wed 11 May

Wednesday 27 April is a demonstration day and will be held in ETB Ballyfermot

This course is for ALL Building Construction Workers and will provide a Single Subject Certificate in Introduction to Low Energy Buildings.

There is a need for a change in approach to deliver low energy buildings which involves the concept of ‘Systems Thinking’ to enable all trades to work together more efficiently and effectively and develop the understanding of Quality Building.

The course is divided into 10 units and will be presented and discussed over a 3 day period (in total).

The following learning units will be developed and discussed with maximum input by group participation of the class.

  3. Regulations and Rules:
  4. Buildings as a System:
  5. Energy Principles:
  6. Building Fabric and Air Tightness:
  7. Thermal Bridging:
  8. Heating Systems:
  9. Ventilation and Condensation:
  10. Low Energy Communication

In brief, the course is intended to provide know how and practical information for building construction workers to improve skills in Quality, Energy Efficiency, Best Practice and System Thinking.
